Brief Summary of Lesson:
In this lesson, students will practice locating specific places on a blank map of the world. Each student will have an opportunity to choose a magnetized vocabulary card. The magnetized cards can either be in a jar or spread out on a table. There are enough cards so each student will have at least one turn. Students will read the word out loud and place the card on the map.

Activities:
1. Warm up: e ntire class reviews prepositions rhyme and corresponding movements
2. Teacher draws points of compass on board and asks for volunteers to fill in the spaces to name the points
3. Teacher introduces today's activity by projecting transparency of world and describing activity
4. Students take turns choosing magnetic vocabulary cards to place on magnetized board (Students can choose cards at random from a jar or choose from all the cards spread out word side up from a table depending on what teacher and students want.)
5. Student reads the word out loud and asks the class to repeat and or spell the word
6. Student places the word in the appropriate location on the projected map.
7. Teacher assists student if necessary
8. Teacher reviews lesson of the day and prepares students for the next day's lesson
