Brief Summary of Lesson:

After students have learned the vocabulary for sports and seasons, they will assume the identity of their favorite sports personality. (living, deceased, family member or friend) Before beginning the writing activity, students needed to research biographical information about their athlete. Using mostly verbs in the first person singular, students will prepare a written biography following a specific outline, the final outcome of which is presented to classmates and parents. Students also have the option of dressing up as their character and utilizing one prop.

Students have to answer the following required questions:

¿Cómo te llamas?
¿Cuántos años tienes?
¿Cuál es la fecha de tu cumpleaños?
¿Dónde nació?

Students then had the options of selecting from the following questions to enhance their biographical information:

¿Qué juegas? (Juego al…)
¿En qué estación (estaciones) juegas? (Juego en…)
¿Cómo se llama tu equipo? (Mi equipo se llama…)
¿Cuáles son los colores de tu equipo? (Los colores son…)
¿Qué usas para jugar tu deporte? (Uso…)
¿Cuándo practicas tu deporte? (Practico…)

All students closed their oral presentation by announcing, “Tengo que jugar/practicar… Adiós.” At this point student used the prop.
