JNCL-NCLIS Home Page - The website of the Joint National Committee for Languages and the National Council for Languages & International Studies. Provides information on federal grants, political advocacy, and language-related events and activities in the federal government.

American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) - National organization for the promotion of foreign language education.

Discover Languages - This is ACTFL's sustained campaign for foreign language education. It is an extension of 2005: The Year of Languages. Its aim is to "raise public awareness about the importance of learning languages and understanding cultures in the lives of all Americans."

New Visions in Action: Foreign Language Education - NVA's goal is to reform the foreign language education system so that all students in the United States can achieve proficiency in another language.

Center for Applied Linguistics - Many useful resources, research, and links for literacy, bilingual education, foreign language education, English language learners, early foreign language learning, and much more.

National Flagship Language Initiative - From the National Foreign Language Center at the University of Maryland. The initiative provides financial support mainly to universities that develop critical language programs, but opportunities are also available for grades K-12.
